When is the Right Time for Therapy for Social Anxiety?

Social anxiety disorder, also called social phobia, is an anxiety disorder where individuals experience fear, nervousness, and other anxiety symptoms in social settings. Some people experience general nervousness in conversations that can seem more like shyness. Others may struggle with severe panic attacks around others.

There is no wrong time to seek social anxiety counseling. It’s not about how severe your symptoms are compared to others. What matters is that you’re feeling connected to those around you – that you feel like you’re in the place you want to be with your social experiences.
